The Role of Big Data Analytics Capability in Improving Sustainability in Logistics: A Systematic Literature Review
摘要
In the last 10 years, the volume of data being generated has accelerated exponentially. This can be attributed in part to the proliferation of new technologies, including social networks, smartphones, tablets, GPS devices, Blockchain, sensors, and Internet of Things. The logistics industry encounters many challenges in its need to keep up with ways of using large quantities of unstructured data being generated every second. In addition, logistics face environmental, economic, and social pressure to enhance sustainability. The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of Big Data Analytics addressing the development of Big Data, its extension into Big Data Analytics, and Big Data Analytics Capability and how it can help in improving sustainability in the Logistics industry. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology was adopted to accomplish the objectives of the study. The Literature Review covered scholarly publications from 2015 to 2024 that delve the interconnections between big data analytics applications and their role in improving performance and process that lead to enhancements in the logistics industry. The paper identified some benefits that can be derived from the application of BDA in Supply Chain and logistics, the determinants of successful implementation of BDA, and the challenges faced by the industry.
