Representing Autopoiesis and Scanning the Environment in Fractal Enterprise Model
摘要
Autopoiesis means that a system constantly rebuilds itself, taking the components from the environment. The term applies to living systems, as well as to organizational systems. Scanning the environment is an essential part of enterprise activities needed for autopoiesis. This paper discusses the way to model activities of an enterprise related to acquiring assets/resources from the environment. Due to the limitation on size, the paper limits itself to modeling activities related to acquiring stakeholders, such as customers, employees, and partners. The Fractal Enterprise Model (FEM) is used for modeling. However, the ideas discussed in the paper could be potentially used to model the acquisition of assets using another modeling technique. The paper discusses what needs to be modeled and shows how it could be done using FEM.
