With the increasing importance of database management skills and the associated growing demand in education, the teaching and learning of different database models and associated query languages is becoming more relevant. This paper describes the development of an innovative teaching platform that provides a standardised interface for four different NoSQL databases. The aim of the platform is to support students in learning different database models and query languages. By implementing a user-friendly React front-end and providing a standardised environment, the focus of the learners is placed on understanding complex data models and the corresponding query languages. A usability analysis conducted over two course terms shows that the platform was rated positively by the students of a practical database course, but that further optimisations are needed to improve the learning experience. In addition, the technological basics of the tool are explained and an outlook on future enhancements is given.
