The purpose of this paper is to analyse how the European Union’s framework on digital finance – and, in particular, the Regulation on Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) – is likely to impact markets in NFTs. Although not a dedicated regulation on NFTs per se, the MiCA Regulation is, as of today, the most relevant piece of legislation to directly address NFTs and will certainly affect their circulation and the development of the relative markets in the Union.
