Measurement of Field Emission Current
摘要
Since the first discovery of the field emission phenomenon, the main difficulty in understanding the matter in detail has been the lack of an experimental setup that can produce noiseless field emission data. The vacuum level that one can achieve in one's laboratory, in almost all cases, is not sufficient for avoiding the space charge effect. If one could do so, then it would be possible to obtain a perfect voltage dependence of emission current, as shown in the previous chapter.
