One of the most common complaints in medicine. There are only four phenomena described as dizziness. Up to 25% of causes of dizziness is due to medications (Table 38.1). For vertigo, it is critical to differentiate central vs peripheral (Table 38.2). Among peripheral, BPPV is not the only cause, but types of vertigo and presence of hearing loss will differentiate vestibular neuritis, labyrinthitis and Meniere’s disease (Table 38.3).
