In previous chapters we considered given dynamical systems of various types and analyzed their properties from different perspectives. In Volume I, we dealt mainly with internal properties such as stability, spectral properties under perturbations, transient behaviour and stability radii for various perturbation structures. In this volume we have so far addressed external properties related to input and output, such as controllability and observability in Chapter 6 and problems of realization and model reduction in Chapter 7.
