We don’t live in bubbles. We live and work in communities of families, neighbors, and co-workers. One of the things that will determine how successful we will be in our personal lives and careers is how well we can communicate. Communication is such a broad concept—it’s not just what you say, but how you say it, when you say it, and why you say it. Communication is spoken and written, and nowadays often “observed” because includes all kinds of social media avenues that we couldn’t imagine when our careers started out. If you can’t get your points across successfully, your ability to lead and advance your career will be compromised.
