This chapter provides an overview of the more common imaging modalities employed for providing a diagnosis and management approach for temporomandibular disorders (TMDs). It highlights the principles and applications of various imaging modalities which include panoramic radiography, cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and nuclear imaging (bone scintigraphy). Furthermore, it discusses the advantages and limitations of each of these imaging modalities as it relates to TMD.

摘要

This chapter provides an overview of the more common imaging modalities employed for providing a diagnosis and management approach for temporomandibular disorders (TMDs). It highlights the principles and applications of various imaging modalities which include panoramic radiography, cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and nuclear imaging (bone scintigraphy). Furthermore, it discusses the advantages and limitations of each of these imaging modalities as it relates to TMD.
