This chapter examines the phenomenon of hidden champions in Georgia, focusing on enterprises that, while relatively unknown to the general public, hold leading positions in their industries and contribute significantly to the country’s economic competitiveness. The study draws on Hermann Simon’s conceptual framework of hidden champions and applies it to the Georgian context, analyzing companies that meet the criteria of global niche leadership, sustained growth, and innovation capacity. Methodologically, the research combines secondary data analysis with case study investigation to identify and assess firms that exemplify the hidden champion model. Two Georgian companies, Tbilvino in the wine sector and Tegeta Motors in the automobile service industry, are presented as illustrative cases. The findings reveal that both companies demonstrate strong international orientation, adaptive strategies in response to crises such as COVID-19 and regional instability, and a consistent focus on quality and customer relationships. These cases highlight how firms in small, emerging economies can achieve global competitiveness by leveraging niche markets, innovation, and resilient leadership. The chapter contributes to the broader literature on hidden champions by extending the concept to the South Caucasus region and providing insights into how Georgian firms enhance national economic visibility and competitiveness.
