This chapter discusses the perspective of a Christian minority group on members of foreign or minority religions in 1530s Germany, all of whom were seen as a threat to the stability of the state, in contrast to the reception of these apparent relations by the authorities. It argues that the underlying conflict of the ‘Bader case’ is a struggle for order or reorder of society, making the stylization of Jews and Turks by the Bader group a central part of creating a counterworld to their political failure and religious oppression. The state and Church authorities, however, reverse the groups testimonies and stylize the case in favour of their own political interests to take action against the group and their Jewish contacts.
