Diagnosis relies on clinical evaluation and audiometric tests, with computed tomography (CT), cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) being crucial for assessing disease progression. Various grading systems, such as the Symons and Fanning classification and the Veillon system, aid in staging OS and guiding treatment decisions. Accurate imaging and diagnosis are important for optimizing patient outcomes and avoiding surgical complications. This chapter examines the CT and MRI appearances of otosclerosis, highlighting the key imaging features for preoperative assessment.
