This paper analyzes the main degradation agents that affect the performance of sandwich panels used in industrial assets. It focuses on how these agents impact the durability of such systems and explores the interactions between them. The study highlights the crucial role of the panel core, which contributes significantly to resistance against mechanical forces—such as impact and pressure—and offers thermal protection, including fire resistance. For electromagnetic agents like UV radiation, protective steel coatings are essential to ensure durability by shielding the steel from radiation and its combined effects with other degrading factors. Chemical agents, particularly those in marine or industrial environments—such as water, sulfur dioxide, and salts—are identified as the primary causes of corrosion. The paper also examines the role of biological agents, like fungi, which contribute to corrosion by producing corrosive substances or assimilating the steel. By understanding the specific effects of each agent, this study aims to enhance maintenance strategies and support the informed selection of more durable solutions for sandwich panel systems.

摘要
