Complications of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
摘要
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is one of the most common gastrointestinal disorders in the adult population. Although typical symptoms of GERD include heartburn, regurgitation and dysphagia, patients can be affected by a broad spectrum of symptoms. Chronic GERD can ultimately lead to more serious complications such as esophagitis, esophageal strictures, Barrett’s esophagus, esophageal adenocarcinoma, and pulmonary diseases.
