The way I work as a teacher educator is determined by my set of beliefs and tenets about teaching and learning mathematics. These, in turn, are built upon the experiences I have had as a school student, student teacher and school teacher, just as much as the 33 years I have spent in teacher education. In this chapter, I offer a chronological journey of significant events which led to me developing these beliefs and tenets which now inform my practice. Along with these events, I identify what key learning I developed through these events. I follow this with a set of principles which guide my practice as a teacher educator and finish with a set of mantras which I say from time to time within my sessions.
