Banana Disease Suppressive Soils and Mitigation of Panama Disease in China
摘要
Soil-borne Fusarium wilt disease still seriously hampers the sustainable development of China's banana industry. However, under the support of a series of effective managements, the overall situation is currently in a preventable and controllable state. This chapter mainly introduces the basic physical, chemical, and biological characteristics of soils that could suppress this wilt disease in China. Furthermore, the research progress regarding how to use agricultural measures such as crop rotation, intercropping, soil fumigation, and bio-organic fertilizers to manipulate the soil microbial community, thereby inducing disease-suppressive soil and controlling the occurrence of banana fusarium wilt is introduced in detail. The content of this chapter will be helpful to those engaged in banana production, scientific researchers, agricultural technology service workers, and other relevant personnel.
