Can Training Bridge the Gap Between the Rhetoric and Practice of Co-production? Lessons Learned from Promoting Co-production in a Non-profit Welfare Service Provider in Sweden
摘要
Research indicates that training for professionals could encourage co-production. By analysing a training programme for professionals, this chapter contributes to research on how to promote co-production in organizations. The chapter draws on surveys and focus groups with participants who had attended a training programme before and after co-production was integrated into the programme. The main finding is that the training programme was only partly able to bridge the discrepancy between the rhetoric and practice of co-production. In addition, although some elements were co-produced to a greater extent, other elements were unexpectedly co-produced to a lesser extent. Suggestions for improvements are to integrate lessons learned from research on the effectiveness of training, to give more consideration to contextual factors and to complement training with other processes.
