Digital platforms now integrate planning, production, logistics, marketing, and service functions. Accelerated by the pandemic and shaped by digital-native generations, these tools enable real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and automation via Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI). They also support advanced customer relationship management (CRM) techniques that segment customers by recency, frequency, and value, enabling targeted marketing campaigns. The section argues that when platforms reduce silos and enhance communication, they improve decision-making and efficiency. Successful implementation depends on supporting both digitally savvy staff and those adapting to new technologies.
