The chapter analyses the new European regulatory framework of digital services, particularly the interaction between the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA). Starting from the evolution of the notion of ‘information society service’, the chapter analyses the objectives and structure of the DSA, with particular focus on the new obligations it imposes on online platforms, both within its provisions and in complementary legislative EU instruments.
