Digital Markets Act (Objectives, Gatekeeper, Designation, Obligations, Etc.)

This chapter examines the main innovations introduced by the Digital Market Act for the regulation of digital markets in the European Union. After briefly explaining the reasons and objectives of the new regulation, the chapter particularly focuses on the definition of gatekeepers and the obligations imposed on them, both from a substantive and procedural point of view. Finally, it analyses the very first data reported by the Commission since the entry into force of the first Annual Report.
