The contribution examines the role of digital platforms in redefining the relationship between power and freedom in contemporary democracies, emphasising their growing incidence in the protection of fundamental rights. The progressive privatisation of para-public functions highlights the need to hand back to the public authorities the moment of implementation of the digital regulatory framework to safeguard the constitutional and democratic order of European systems.
