This chapter provides an overview of the targets and measurable indicators of the Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG-7) which focuses on ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy to all by 2030. Even though global achievement in the percentage of energy access and clean cooking energy is commendable, large no of population still have no access to these facilities. This book takes into consideration global efforts in general and Indian efforts in particular in achieving the target, and enumerates the breakthroughs achieved and the obstacles and challenges hindering the progress.
