Air quality is a significant environmental concern in urban areas, with variations in pollution levels often linked to spatial and seasonal factors. This study investigates the spatial heterogeneity of air quality in Greater Manchester, focusing on the impact of land use and green spaces on air pollution patterns. Using data from six air quality monitoring stations from 2010 to 2020, the research explores how different land uses—such as urban, industrial, and green spaces—contribute to variations in air quality across the region. The findings indicate that areas with high urbanization and industrial activities experience poorer air quality, while regions with more green space show significantly better air quality. This study highlights the critical role of urban planning and green infrastructure in improving air quality, particularly in densely populated areas. The results also underscore the need for targeted policies that consider both spatial and seasonal factors to mitigate air pollution effectively in urban environments.

摘要
