This chapter is the second in a series of editions of John Geometres’ exegetical works on Gregory of Nazianzus’ orations. The commentary on Oration 45 is extant in a single manuscript, Vatican, Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana, Palat. gr. 402 (diktyon 66134), where it was transcribed together with the same author’s commentary on Oration 1. The two commentaries share similar features, with both being focused on rhetorical and theological exegesis, and testify to Geometres’ rhetorical views and methods.
