Exploring Organizational and Human Determinants in Business Intelligence Adoption: Insights from the Moroccan Context

Business Intelligence (BI) attracts both researchers and practitioners due to its ability to analyze data and generate critical insights that empower informed business decisions. However, despite its acknowledged value, BI adoption rates and the consistency of success stories vary considerably across countries. This paper is a comprehensive review of articles published between 2012 and 2022 in leading academic databases such as ScienceDirect and Web of Science, aimed at investigating the factors influencing business intelligence (BI) adoption. It explores these factors in the Moroccan context. This study identifies over fifty key determinants impacting BI adoption, with a particular focus on organizational and human factors. To assess the level of BI usage in Morocco, an online survey was carried out, with 82 respondents, 62 of whom met the requirements of the study, which mainly involved using a BI tool operating in Morocco. As a result, the use of business intelligence is significant increase in different activities sector. Some factors of an organizational nature were identified: data management, technological readiness, management skills, project group skills, clarity of objectives, management support and management system. Similarly, four human factors were identified: perceived ease of use, post-use satisfaction, quantitative skills, level of education and computer knowledge.
