In this chapter, we introduce this volume which reports a systematic review of emotions research in science teacher education. Existing reviews and systematic reviews are discussed and limitations are identified to support the need for this volume. Following this rationale, we define key terms including emotion, science teacher education, and learning that form foundational concepts relevant to the review of included studies. The research questions that guided the review are then presented, before the chapter concludes with an overview of the volume.

摘要

In this chapter, we introduce this volume which reports a systematic review of emotions research in science teacher education. Existing reviews and systematic reviews are discussed and limitations are identified to support the need for this volume. Following this rationale, we define key terms including emotion, science teacher education, and learning that form foundational concepts relevant to the review of included studies. The research questions that guided the review are then presented, before the chapter concludes with an overview of the volume.
