Development of a Talent Management Support System for Sustaining Organizational Human Capability
摘要
The declining birthrate and aging population are widely recognized as serious social problems in developed countries. This situation has led to a progressive decline in the working population, and the resulting human resource shortages are becoming more pronounced. In this environment, it is essential for companies to accurately assess the skills of their engineers and implement appropriate talent management. To address this issue, this study proposes a system that supports visualization of skills and talent management by utilizing a skill tree, which is an element of gamification. The system integrates three main functions: skill tree creation, progress management, and organizational analysis, and enables a systematic understanding of the relationship among skills. As an application example, the system was applied to the welding department of a steel manufacturer to visualize the skills of each engineer, their progress, and the status of skills held by the organization. Furthermore, we confirmed the usefulness of the system in supporting the formulation of appropriate human resource development and recruitment strategies by predicting the timing of skill loss due to the retirement of engineers and the target skills through the simulation function. However, the system has not yet been tested in actual operation over a long period of time, and future evaluation of its effectiveness in supporting long-term operation is needed. This study is expected to contribute to the support of talent management for the sustainable maintenance and improvement of human resources.
