Trustworthy Cross-Company Collaboration in Industrial Data Spaces Through Decentralized Authentication and Blockchain Traceability
摘要
In interconnected collaborative industries, trusted production data exchange is crucial. This research presents a method to establish trust in industrial supply chains using decentralized approaches that, unlike conventional approaches, do not rely on central authorities or service providers. The two key components are the implementation of decentralized identities for machines to enable automated identity and access management, and a blockchain-based smart contract to verify traceability across supply chains. The approach is implemented in a production network consisting of multiple machines to evaluate its feasibility in the context of collaborative, service-oriented manufacturing ecosystems. The findings show that decentralized technologies can serve as a cornerstone for digital trust in industrial data spaces.
