Olivia Engvall’s journey into the world of engineering began in high school, where she joined a FIRST Robotics team during her freshman year. This experience was pivotal, as it provided her with a comprehensive introduction to the field of engineering. The collaborative environment of FIRST Robotics allowed Olivia to work closely with her peers and mentors, fostering a sense of teamwork and learning. She had the opportunity to explore programming, marketing, machine design, electrical, and mechanical fabrication. She was drawn to the mechanical and electrical systems and showed an aptitude for brainstorming designs and troubleshooting the robot.
