Situated Agents in Action: Extending VEsNA with Spatial and Grabbable Artifacts
摘要
We present an extension of the VEsNA framework to support situated artifacts, allowing agents to interact with artifacts based on their virtual spatial context. Two new artifact types are introduced: SituatedArtifact, which enforces spatial co-location for perception and use, and GrabbableArtifact, which can be carried by agents across different environments. Artifacts can also be configured to support mutual exclusion, preventing simultaneous access by multiple agents. These extensions are integrated into the architecture of VEsNA, supporting automatic workspace switching based on agent movement and real-time visualization through the Godot engine. Although the concept of situated artifacts is well established, our contribution lies in making them accessible and usable within a publicly available open-source platform. This work aims to bridge symbolic reasoning and embodied interaction, and paves the way for further generalization of situated artifact support within the broader JaCaMo and CArtAgO ecosystems.
