In this work, we present our test and development strategies to instrument two SPH codes with in situ visualization and analysis. We discuss the multiple requirements of such applications, and the lessons learned while interfacing the simulation codes with three in situ libraries (VTK-m, ParaView Catalyst and Ascent). We discuss the compromises made to adopt solutions scaling beyond the 55-billion particle simulation sets and comment on memory consumption and performance for these tightly coupled solutions.

摘要

In this work, we present our test and development strategies to instrument two SPH codes with in situ visualization and analysis. We discuss the multiple requirements of such applications, and the lessons learned while interfacing the simulation codes with three in situ libraries (VTK-m, ParaView Catalyst and Ascent). We discuss the compromises made to adopt solutions scaling beyond the 55-billion particle simulation sets and comment on memory consumption and performance for these tightly coupled solutions.
