This chapter will explore national perspectives on LHS+ leadership in US medical education, focusing on medical schools, colleges of osteopathic medicine, and graduate medical education programs. Leadership from these organizations will provide updates on the current landscape and highlight opportunities for advancing LHS+ faculty in leadership roles. We will first examine the rationale for enhancing LHS+ representation in leadership, the barriers hindering their progress, and the existing disparities in academic medicine.
