Optimizing CV and Portfolio for Promotion Purposes
摘要
Promotion within a medical school is dependent on the quality of your curriculum vitae (CV) and your academic portfolio. As in all of science, the organization and presentation of the key elements of your documentation matters. Early preparation and consistency, as well as timely updating of the documents, are essential. The documents must be organized according to the institution’s specifications. Awareness of the criteria for promotion at your institution and familiarity with any criteria updates is the responsibility of the individual candidate. For faculty engaged in Latina/o/x/e, Hispanic, or of Spanish origin+ (LHS+)-related activities, it is critical to learn how to build diversity capital that can support academic promotion. Formal and transparent institutional policies, processes, and practices are important to acknowledge LHS+-related activities and their promotion merit.
