Conclusion
摘要
This concluding chapter examines the effects of rising temperatures on rural communities with primary emphasis on health implications. Additionally, it addresses the broader effects on agriculture, economic stability, community dynamics, and overall quality of life. An illustrative example is found in Northeast Arkansas, a predominantly rural region that has experienced a temperature increase ranging from 0.7 to 1.2 degrees Fahrenheit over the past century. This example provides a contextual framework for understanding these issues. A supplementary analysis of heat stress in Southeast Louisiana, including Parishes near Baton Rouge and New Orleans, is included to illustrate regional variations in temperature impacts. Demographic factors, including the aging rural population and patterns of rural out-migration, are also examined in relation to population health policies. The chapter concludes by providing a collection of additional resources intended to support initiatives focused on improving health outcomes within rural populations.
