Complications After Injection of Non-absorbable Substances
摘要
Currently, the use of non-absorbable substances for volumizing and contouring body structures is increasingly common, as is the successive introduction of new products with its own specificities and innovations compared to those already in use. This chapter sought to explore the complications after infiltration of fillers by non-absorbable substances. A search was conducted in the Medline, Cochrane Library, Scopus, and Web of Science databases, following the search strategy for complications arising from the use of non-absorbable substances for filling body structures. For didactic purposes, the application of these substances and their complications were separated into the filling of the face, breasts and trunk, upper and lower limbs, and genitals. Primary and secondary studies were selected and evaluated by the authors from which the complications could be understood, classified, and presented in an explanatory overview of this issue.
