This chapter concludes the study of the evolving legal status and perception of infertile men and castrated men in the Byzantine Empire from the sixth to eleventh centuries, demonstrating how imperial legislation reflected both continuity and transformation. While the emperors maintain a largely consistent understanding of the legal status of infertile men, attitudes towards castration and castrated men occasionally varied, shaped by the shifting legal, social, political, and religious contexts of the period. In addition, although beyond the primary scope of the study, brief observations are offered regarding the ways in which the legal and political circumstances surrounding eunuchs evolved after the Macedonian period. Finally, this chapter outlines the significance of the findings presented in this volume. The study contributes to a more nuanced understanding of the social and political roles of eunuchs and highlights the value of legal sources in examining Byzantine imperial governance and society.

摘要
