The Case Study
摘要
This chapter focuses on the analysis of the peculiarities of the case study selected. The city of Benidorm is introduced, followed by a review of the urban planning progress and an outline of the hazards and risks affecting the area of interest. The city is exposed to different hazards such as forest fire, landslide, earthquake but most importantly flash floods. Its exceptional urban growth, population increase and extraordinary number of inhabitants/day during the high season characterize it as a model of high exposure and vulnerability. The chapter concludes with a detailed discussion of the data collection and processing approaches.
