Planning principles are outlined, which include the workup for pontic shape and size, in addition to the decision-making process in framework design. The relative advantages and disadvantages of preparation versus no preparation are also discussed. The chapter concludes with a stepwise description of cementation protocols for resin retention tooth replacement.
