Implementation and Effectiveness of a Game-Based Production Management Workshop to Motivate Women in STEM
摘要
This conference paper explores the implementation and evaluation of a research-driven STEM study orientation programme designed for female high school students. The initiative is part of a three-year research project titled “Hybrid STEM Study Orientation Programme for Women in the Context of Digital Transformation.” It details the programme’s structure, with a focus on the production management workshop. In this workshop, participants were introduced to production processes through game-based learning within a physical learning factory environment. The study highlights the potential of learning factories as effective platforms for targeted STEM guidance, particularly in inspiring young women to pursue technical careers. The game-based workshop on production management significantly enhanced participants’ self-assessed skills and confidence, especially in production processes, where average scores improved from 1.6 to 3.8. High satisfaction levels and strong interest in the workshop content further underscore the intervention’s success in engaging participants and fostering enthusiasm for STEM subjects.
