In this chapter, the reader will be introduced to evolving medical device technology trends associated with intra-body, interconnected, and Bring Your own Device (BYoD) technology. And with those evolving trends in mind, we will take a deeper dive into the concept of interconnectedness and how barriers to data transference can be disastrous for a healthcare organization as well as patients. The reader will then be shown a vision of the future of technologies that will change the landscape of medical devices as we know them. And though some of the future technologies might sound too fantastical, the reader will be provided with evidence that supports, in most cases, that the technology already exists (e.g., Neuromorphic Computing).

摘要
