Policy Guidelines for Delta Resilience Through Nature-Based Solutions
摘要
This chapter gives specific policy suggestions for making the delta more resilient by using Nature-Based Solutions (NbS). Deltas are very sensitive to changes in the weather, rising sea levels, and development that isn’t good for the environment. They need flexible and integrated governance frameworks. The chapter talks about the main ideas behind NbS, like ecological integrity, participatory governance, risk reduction, fairness, and adaptability. It also talks about the legal, institutional, financial, and planning tools that can help these ideas come true. It also emphasizes that community engagement, capacity building, and adaptive monitoring are essential components of effective NbS policy frameworks. The chapter gives practical advice on how to include NbS in delta planning. It does this by looking at case studies from around the world to make sure that NbS will be sustainable in the long term, help with climate change, and have social and ecological benefits.
