Delta regions are important to the economy and are rich in ecosystems. However, they are facing increasing problems at many levels, such as rising sea levels, land subsidence, biodiversity loss, and climate change-related disasters. For long-term resilience, grey infrastructure alone is insufficient. This chapter discusses delta resilience and how Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) can help deltas to adapt better. NbS uses natural processes, such as restoring wetlands, regenerating mangroves, and using land in a way that is good for the environment. They have many benefits, such as lowering the risk of flooding, storing carbon, restoring ecosystems, and helping people make a living. This chapter discusses what NbS is, what kinds there are, and how it can help each other. It also discusses case studies from around the world and in different regions, as well as some of the biggest problems with putting NbS into action, such as policy gaps, lack of technical skills, and funding issues. It ends by asking for integrated approaches to find a balance between ecological sustainability and human development to make delta systems strong and healthy.

摘要
