Bibliometric Insights into the Role of Crèche Facilities for Women in the Workforce
摘要
Crèche facilities are essential in helping women thrive in the workforce by promoting inclusivity, boosting productivity, and narrowing gender inequality. This study explores how access to childcare services impacts women's participation and retention in the workplace using bibliometric analysis of academic research. By applying tools like citation mapping, co-authorship analysis, and keyword clustering, it highlights key trends, emerging themes, and gaps in the existing research. This study takes a deep dive into how crèche facilities influence women’s participation in the workforce. It uses bibliometric analysis to trace research patterns, citation trends, and evolving themes between 2015 and 2023. The findings highlight the significant role of formal childcare services in promoting gender inclusivity and easing work-life conflicts, particularly in developed nations like Sweden and Canada, where robust childcare systems correlate with higher female labor force participation. This is especially evident in developed countries like Sweden and Canada, where strong childcare systems are linked to higher rates of female workforce involvement. On the flip side, India faces hurdles such as limited infrastructure, high expenses, and socio-cultural challenges, particularly in smaller urban areas (tier 2 cities), making quality childcare less accessible. The study also highlights influential authors, journals, and emerging topics, pointing to a spike in academic attention during the COVID-19 era. However, there are gaps—like the lack of research on smaller cities in India, limited global collaborations, and an absence of qualitative perspectives. The researchers suggest future studies explore regional disparities, cultural factors, and long-term policy effects to encourage a more inclusive and sustainable workforce for women.
