Understanding Employee Retention: The Interplay of Workload, Compensation, and Job Satisfaction in PT.X

Organizations that want to maintain a stable and committed workforce must consider the critical balance between workload and compensation as part of strategic human resource management. This study aims to analyze the impact of workload and compensation on job satisfaction and turnover intention at PT X directly and through job satisfaction as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative approach with PLS-SEM analysis and a sample of 185 permanent employees, the results showed that workload and compensation significantly affect job satisfaction, impacting turnover intention. Furthermore, workload and compensation indirectly affect turnover intention through job satisfaction. The results of this study indicate the importance of balancing work demands with fair compensation to foster job satisfaction and reduce employee turnover intention.
