Security and privacy are important components of any software system. The same applies to intelligent systems and machine learning applications. In this chapter we explain the main concepts related to security and privacy for databases, secure communications, and machine learning models. In particular, we discuss, authentication, authorization in access control, secure communications, data integrityData integrity, and privacy for both databases and machine learning models. The chapter finishes explaining what is security and privacy by design.
