This chapter will outline the method and results from the first successful experiments in ALPHA-g [1]. I will discuss the concept and methodology for the magnetic release measurement in Sect. 6.1, the development of the experimental procedure in Sect. 6.2.1, the raw data from the first controlled magnetic release of antihydrogen in Sect. 6.2.3, and uncertainties associated with these data in Sect. 6.4. This culminated with the first determination of \(a_{\bar{g}}\) as described briefly in Sect. 6.3.
