The Power of Resilience: Indigenous Women Reclaiming Knowledge, Leadership and Justice
摘要
This introductory chapter sets the stage for the broader discussion within this volume on how Indigenous women are reclaiming knowledge, leadership and justice to catalyze social change. It invites scholars from all academic disciplines to examine transformative strategies that empower Indigenous women and redefine their societal roles. Historically, at the forefront of resisting colonialism, systemic discrimination and gender-based violence, Indigenous women’s resilience not only underlines their strength but also critically challenges colonial narratives that pathologize their communities while concealing structural oppression. We address multidimensional experiences of Indigenous women globally, interlinking knowledge, tradition and justice as dual sources of empowerment and persistent marginalization and advocates for integrating Indigenous perspectives as essential to achieving social justice.
