This book is the result of my Ph.D. research, which I started over seven years ago. It is strange to think that back in 2018, I submitted a research proposal with a very different plan. It focused on building a ‘resilient post-conflict society’ through citizen participation. In this final chapter, I will present a summary of the key findings, not only on a conceptual level regarding the analytical model itself, but also for both Kosovo and Medellín. To do this thoroughly, the chapter is divided into four parts. First a theoretical summary of the key findings is presented, followed by the academic contributions of this research. After this, the policy implications follow, where the possible contributions to the field are discussed, and Kosovo and Medellín are used as an example. I end the book with opportunities for future research.
