Hydrogen, H2, is a high-energy, zero-direct-carbon fuel of broad interest for industrial applications, power applications, and transportation. Ammonia, NH3, is a widely used fertilizer and energy intensive in its traditional Haber–Bosch production process; new production processes are under development, and ammonia also is of interest as a somewhat easier to manage carrier of hydrogen, with applications such as fuel for ships.

摘要

Hydrogen, H2, is a high-energy, zero-direct-carbon fuel of broad interest for industrial applications, power applications, and transportation. Ammonia, NH3, is a widely used fertilizer and energy intensive in its traditional Haber–Bosch production process; new production processes are under development, and ammonia also is of interest as a somewhat easier to manage carrier of hydrogen, with applications such as fuel for ships.
