A History of Settler Colonialism
摘要
This chapter recalls the historical legacy of settler colonialism, especially the exploitation of Indigenous women and their ongoing oppression, to better understand how dominion over nature and women adversely impacts freedom and choice and, ultimately, prosperity. Impacts on Indigenous women and their families are discussed through the criminalization of Indigenous culture, the displacement and erasure of Indigenous lifeways, and the weaponization of public policy to control First Nations.
